Our literacy work is anchored in HMH Into Reading (K–6) and Into Literature (6–12). The walkthrough tool below helps school leaders and coaches observe and support consistent implementation of the core literacy components.
HMH Literacy Walkthrough Tool
A four-part cycle: a pre-walkthrough planning conversation, a component checklist for the classroom visit, and a post-walkthrough reflection. Components vary from lesson to lesson and are informed by unit pacing — not every component will appear in a single lesson.

Diagnoses middle school skill gaps and teaches the exact concepts needed for high school. 15 minutes a day keeps students on track. A free account is required.
Best for high school visuals
Desmos Graphing Calculator
Students type equations and instantly see how changing numbers shifts the line. It is the same tool used on most state tests and the digital SAT.
Suggested 6-week summer study schedule
Three days a week, 20 minutes a day — leaving plenty of time for summer. Students can complete these modules with the free Khan Academy Get Ready for Algebra 1 course.

Whether your child is just beginning high school or preparing for a Regents examination, families play an important role in supporting student success. These resources reinforce classroom learning and are aligned to the New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS) and the NYCPS science curriculum.
